"Great shop, HONEST mechanic (so important but not so easily found, it seems), AND great car advice."
I happened to have a conference just around the corner from the gas station on the day of that crazy storm last December (13-Dec-2007). I arrived to the conference in a rush and had about 1/4 tank (which apparently was too little for storm like that) AND my heat in my car had just died a couple days before. Basically, I wasn't able to get out onto the road until about 10PM that night, and thankfully was able to get to your shop just in time, because my 2002 Chrysler with front wheel drive and no heat and not much gas was FREEZING and I'd about had it with unreliable cars. Your shop was so nice in taking it right then and there (also fortunately one of the limo cars we'd requested for a client earlier that day just showed up and was able to give me a ride home). On top of that, "Ed" called me the next day, gave me an honest assessment of the problem with the heat in my car, and also gave me different options on how to go about fixing it. AND when I sought his advice on whether or not to keep the car, his advice couldn't have been better and more genuine. When I picked my car up, I even pushed him to tell me what kind of new (great/reliable/smart) car he would get if he were I, and though he politely declined at first, I was finally able to get his opinion for both a make AND a model. Well, many thanks again to Ed and your shop, the very next day, I pulled out of the Honda dealership with a brand new CR-V, just as Ed humbly suggested. Thus, you can probably count on me bringing back to Totten Pond Shell with my new car for service (as well as recommending it), though I technically neither work nor live nearby. SO THANKS A MILLION, ED (hope you get/give yourself some kind of bonus)! FYI: I never fill out these surveys, and yes, I did do my research after soliciting Ed's advice - he did know his stuff though. Many thanks again, and take care.

"Honest recommendations"
I was trading my Saab 900 in for a new car in a week when the catalytic converter (among other parts) broke. The repair estimate approached 50% of the car's value, so I asked if it would hold together until I traded it in. The mechanic correctly predicted that I could continue to drive it for a week, and that the costly repairs weren't needed. They'll also drive you to work if you drop your car off. Best repair shop I've found in the area.

The mechanic I used to use stopped doing repairs and referred me to Totten Pond Shell. I can always get an appointment when I need one. I really appreciate the ride to work within minutes of dropping off my car. Eddie's personality, intelligence and honesty are above and beyond any other mechanic's I have used in 30 years. I love the car club option.

"not a great shop"
well first of all, they overcharge like crazy. secondly, i wasn't happy with their work. they fixed my brake pads, but left the brakes making noise. they refused to admit this, even though i proved it to a mechanic, so i had to take it elsewhere to get it looked at. they also failed in fixing my A/C, although arguably that wasn't really their fault.
